Why explore conflict from an Inner perspective?

Attending to conflict can be uncomfortable, but it’s one of the most crucial issues we need to learn about. If we all felt the same about everything, we wouldn't have any problems, but because we’re different –and can only really experience life from our own point of view (although we can sense and learn more about others’)– it’s an unavoidable part of our lives and work.

Learning to deal better with conflict is always useful –and can be transformational– as we are forced to look more deeply at our own approaches, blind spots and assumptions, as well as hopefully understanding one another better.

Why are we exploring conflict now?

Our series began with a search for some useful online resources on conflict. We wanted to create shareable illustrations to go with them which would help to make them more easily accessible.

We invited some of the authors to talk further about the resources –and of course got a wide range of responses– while some were very straightforward, other people never got back to us at all; still others did respond, but said that they didn’t want to talk about the resources in the way we had expected. Here’s some of their amazing artwork:

So the illustrations proved to be a jumping-off point for some fascinating conversations with people who have spent a lot of their time thinking about and working with conflict in different ways.

We hope you will join us as we explore a whole range of approaches to working with conflict to get more out of our projects and our lives.
